The Fate of Iran's Arms
Written by Howayda Awad Ahmad In a powerful message and a clear, brash attack, with a tone that was neither strong nor weak, Sheikh Naim Qassem bluntly declared that Hezbollah would not give up its weapons and that it was Lebanon's only safe haven against Israeli ambitions. He resolutely sought solutions with the Lebanese President and coordination with the Lebanese Army and political parties. This complete rejection is a clear message to the Israeli enemy that the resistance is continuing, renewing itself, and reorganizing its systems after the assassination of most of its senior leaders. A gratuitous abandonment is a figment of the imagination after all this long conflict. This is despite Iran and the United States announcing that they would negotiate in the Sultanate of Oman in a devious manner, studying the issue of Hezbollah's weapons and reducing Hezbollah's regional role, in exchange for the enemy's withdrawal from southern Lebanon. Despite Israel's failure to abide by the agreement concluded in November of last year between the resistance in Lebanon and Israel, brokered by the United States, it continues to refuse to withdraw. Consequently, Lebanese citizens will not trust Hezbollah, nor will they return to the Bekaa Valley and the South, nor will they rebuild as long as the Israeli entity remains present. Israel's presence along the Litani River and its insistence on maintaining a military presence throughout southern Lebanon are in the hope of settling Palestinians and displacing them from Gaza, or of pursuing the Zionist expansionist project, as is currently occurring in Syria. Another goal is to end Hezbollah's influence and surround it from all sides. The Syrian scene has now become a flashpoint for the entire region and an example to follow, as the occupation dismantled and disarmed the Syrian army, encircling Syrian territory and placing it under control without an army, without weapons, and without power. It seems that Al-Qassem has learned his lesson well and is shouldering the responsibility of avenging Hassan Nasrallah, Hashem Safi, all the party's active leaders, and the thousands of civilian martyrs targeted by Israel last year. Loyalty to the resistance's weapons and adherence to the same ideals and sacrifices. A few days ago, Israel responded to Qassem's speech with more bombing and escalation, a sharp response to their continued efforts to clip Hezbollah's claws, or rather, uproot that arm. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun is fully aligned with the resistance, and there are agreements and a comprehensive defense strategy at the diplomatic, military, and economic levels against ongoing Israeli attacks. This coordination between them is aimed at preserving Lebanon's stability. Indeed, research and organization are underway to restructure the resistance, rehabilitate, and organize high-level military courses for some Hezbollah members to integrate them into the Lebanese army, as previously occurred with the integration of the security forces' militias and the army after the end of the civil war in the 1990s. However, this integrated system cannot be restored until Israel withdraws completely from Lebanon. The Lebanese president, who pledged to restrict weapons to the state, contradicts Hezbollah's desires, which completely refuses to disarm before Israel withdraws from the south and completes the return of the residents and reconstruction of the south. Analyzing this vision reveals an imminent merger between the resistance and the army in the coming years. More dangerously, we must not overlook the fact that there is a sovereign movement opposing Hezbollah in the Lebanese government, which emphasizes the complete disarmament of Hezbollah and the removal of its power, in accordance with the UN Charter, by implementing the resolution to disarm all militias from all Lebanese territory and evacuating the area south of the Litani River of all Hezbollah military forces bordering Israel. This vision will, of course, serve to expand and systematically extend the Israeli occupation of Syrian territory. Israel has exploited the presence of Trump in the US, the change of administration from Biden to Trump, and the change of Amos Hochstein to Morgat Otagos to escape and renounce all previous treaties and agreements, including ceasefires and even truces, and to delay the planned withdrawal last February. It continues to carry out carefully targeted intelligence-driven strikes against Hezbollah leaders, bulldoze land, build walls, and organize committees from the United States, France, Lebanon, Israel, and UNIFIL to consolidate and consolidate normalization with the entity... not to appease the situation. Because Iran is now at a crossroads and is on the verge of reviving the Hezbollah file and supporting it as it did before, after the fall of Assad, it is no longer able to provide financial support to revive the party after it has lost those responsible for its management and leadership. On the other hand, it sees the Israeli presence in Syria supported by Ahmed al-Sharaa, who is standing guard to prevent any rise of Shiite support from Assad and Hezbollah supporters. Only the Houthi arm remains, waiting to see what Iran will threaten, how the Iranian-American understandings will end, and what will be the consequences of the current Gulf-American arms deals and the resulting imbalance in the Middle East. Discussions about Iranian nuclear weapons will not be isolated from Iran's militias in the region. Iranian brutality will be met with American-Zionist-European brutality. The Arabs are paying their money, and the arms factories continue to sell weapons to the highest bidder.

No Peace with Israel
Dr. Mohamed Dabasha Member of the Egyptian Writers Union No peace with a Zionist entity that occupied parts of Arab lands (Syria, Lebanon) and established its state on Palestinian lands. Not content with this, its ambitions extend to expelling the remaining residents of Gaza after the occupation army destroyed Gaza, causing countless deaths and injuries. The matter does not stop there, however. Daily skirmishes occur on Egypt's borders to pressure it to implement the Zionist-American plan in the Middle East, so that Israel, according to their beliefs, remains the dominant power in the region. Everything it demands or dreams of must be presented to it on a platter of toast. What kind of peace is this with an occupying terrorist entity that has killed our people in Gaza, Syria, and Lebanon? What is the meaning of the Camp David Peace Accords with an entity that does not respect peace, does not respect international legitimacy resolutions, and does not respect international law? We, as Arabs, must carefully consider our relationship with this mentally unstable entity. We have the leverage to stand on solid ground against the brutality of this foolish enemy. Among these are the actions we must take at the present time, and the discussion here is not directed solely at Egypt, but rather at all Arab and Islamic countries: Egypt must announce the suspension of its peace agreement with Israel until it commits to returning every inch of Arab land it usurped, agreeing to the two-state solution, and establishing an independent Palestinian state on all the lands occupied in 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital. Withdraw the ambassadors of Arab and Islamic countries from Israel and expel their ambassadors from those countries. There must be no Arab normalization with the Zionist entity. Anyone who does so is a traitor to the Arabs and must be excluded from the Arab fold. Sever all political, economic, commercial, and tourism ties with this occupying entity. 5- Adopting a unified Arab position in the Security Council, requesting that the Council return all occupied Arab territories to their owners, with a mechanism for implementing any resolution issued by the Council. If this Arab request is thwarted by an American veto, we, as Arab and Islamic countries, must immediately withdraw from the Security Council, as long as it is of no use or benefit to maintaining security and peace in the Arab world. 5- The United Nations must inform Israel that it must return the Arab territories it has usurped within six months and that the State of Palestine is established. If Israel refuses, the United Nations must expel the State of Israel from the United Nations. 6- We, as Arabs, must have an agreement and a unified vision for the future of the greater Arab homeland and the dangers of occupation, division and discord it is exposed to. This can only be achieved by establishing a joint Arab deterrent force that can liberate the occupied Arab lands and be a shield and sword for all Arab countries. In the end, we will find ourselves faced with two options: the first is to surrender to the reality that has continued for more than half a century, and it is a deterrent to the occupying Zionist entity. The second option is to work hard, prepare, and remember this phrase well: 'What is taken by force cannot be restored except by force.'

History from the Bottom… The Narrative of the Forgotten in the Arab World
In a world where history is written from above—where the victories of sultans and the whims of rulers are recorded in gilded archives—the voices of the oppressed whisper from below, always present yet often ignored. Official history is shaped by hollow speeches, justificatory narratives, and orchestrated celebrations of triumphs that never occurred, while the truth is buried with its witnesses or left as a lonely cry in the dark alleys of forgotten towns and villages. "Between Power and the Word… A Battle for Existence" In the Arab world, history has always belonged to the ruling authority. It is reshaped as needed, and those who challenge it or write what should not be written are crushed. This is an age-old battle between the pen and the sword, between official discourse and counter-narratives, between power and storytelling. The latter is the voice of the poor and marginalized—those who never had a place in the records of the palace, yet whose stories live on in the streets and whispered tales of the neighborhood. Ibn Khaldun was among the first to challenge this paradigm, shifting history from the halls of power to the markets and streets, observing the lives of common people and presenting a vision distinct from the rulers' proclamations. Today, this idea is being revived in various intellectual and literary movements, such as "History from Below" in Britain, "Microhistory" in Italy, and "Subaltern Studies" in India, all of which reposition the periphery as the true center of life and history. "Syria… Where History is Written in Blood" Since the onset of the Syrian tragedy, the regime sought to commit its crimes in silence, without witnesses. However, it faced a generation armed with words and technology, documenting events in real-time. Ordinary citizens—who never studied history or journalism—became the true historians of this era. Amid the machinery of media distortion, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube emerged as an alternative archive, ensuring that the truth could not be buried forever. Yet, despite this documentation, there will always be those who attempt to rewrite the story according to the victors' desires. Executioners will be portrayed as heroes, and the names of grieving mothers and slain children will be erased. This underscores the importance of people writing their own history—free from the grip of power and its fabricated narratives. "The Unspoken Truth in the Arab World" While official history is written in palaces, true history is told in villages—among shepherds and farmers, in dark prison cells, in refugee camp alleys, and on the tongues of those who have no voice. Yet, this history remains hidden, banned from circulation, constantly threatened with erasure. In Egypt, the history of the downtrodden is found in the stories of farmers expelled from their lands and in the silence of slums that surround Cairo like a sorrowful belt no one wants to see. In Iraq, it is the history of the disappeared in prisons and mass graves. In Palestine, it is the history of mothers awaiting their sons—either returning from detention or lost forever. In Lebanon, it is the history of those who survived wars, only to swallow their pain in silence. Meanwhile, salon intellectuals theorize about modernity and democracy, while the people at the bottom die unnoticed, their names unrecorded in any book. "Power Fears the Truth" Mohamed Saad Abdel Latif, an Egyptian writer and researcher specializing in geopolitics.

Trump is writing his own end
Written by Since Trump assumed the American presidency, he has played the role of the bully in Arab films, imposing taxes and tributes. He is fascinated by the armed robbery of countries, playing the role of the cowboy in foreign films, to control the resources and lands of peoples, as if the language of force and domination were the sole authority over existence. He has forgotten that there are countries whose existence and economic, military, and human power on this planet should not be underestimated, such as China, for example, whose products have invaded all global markets. His greed, single-mindedness, and bullying of all countries by imposing heavy taxes to pay off America's debts, and his involvement in multiple battles on various lands to thwart Iran, whether in Yemen with the Houthis, or on the lands of the Arab Gulf states through his bases there, or even through the territories occupied by Israel in Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine, is to gradually achieve his goal of complete control over the entire Middle East without any reaction, and the nuclear disarmament that threatens the spoiled son of Israel. This is what fulfills his dreams, and global trade and the new trade route that has aided the enemy in the genocide of the Palestinian people, emptying Gaza of its inhabitants, and following it with the rest of the remaining cities of Palestine, so that they become completely under the control of the American-Zionist regime, as agreed upon in advance. In light of all this momentum, events, and reckless decisions, I believe that he alone is capable of solving the problems of the American economy and raising America's name high, without the slightest consideration for the American people themselves, who rose up against him, suffering from insanely high prices, and that the increase in commodity prices will devour incomes in a terrifying manner. Instead of adopting logical, long-term solutions, he wanted to end the debts. As quickly as possible, at the expense of the countries of the world that deal with its markets, and he didn't consider how and from where the blow would be retaliated. American arrogance will face an unprecedented decline within a year from now and wars with dire consequences if it doesn't adopt the path of reason, wisdom, and balance with the weight of countries that influence its economy, its goods, and its people's consumption of them, such as Chinese manufacturing. On the other hand, America will wage war on the Houthis, toppling more than 80 of their leaders, and the Houthis will respond by claiming that they intend to take revenge by striking Saudi oil facilities. The billion dollars that Trump spent on the war in Yemen in only twenty years should have been spent paying off American debts. The American people are monitoring actions and spending, as they are well aware of what is happening around them. We are still at the beginning of events, and the hemorrhage of American funds outside its territory will continue, as happened in the Iraq War. But this time, the war is much more difficult because the ground war they plan to wage will consume countless American funds and will ultimately fail due to the difficult terrain in Yemen. No matter how much funding they receive from the Gulf, they will not eliminate the Houthis, whose presence is supported by Iran and which they view as their long arm, draining the American economy. Nevertheless, Iran is preparing, and the Iranian army is on high alert. They are creating new arms for themselves as alternatives to the Houthis, should America gain control of them in other countries. Meanwhile, Netanyahu is visiting the United States, hoping to reduce tariffs and discuss with Trump the Iranian issue that is troubling him in Syria. He also discusses the Turkish presence in Syria, which has consumed the Syrian interior. He is also trying to get rid of other projects in Lebanon and Syria after getting rid of Hezbollah and pursuing the remnants of Iran in northern Syria. He then discusses the Gaza issue and the ongoing displacement operations. Macron's attack on Egypt comes as the leaders of Egypt, France, and Jordan all want to resolve the Palestinian issue. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Jordanian King Abdullah II, and French President Emmanuel Macron held a phone call with US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the trilateral summit in Cairo on April 7, 2025. The leaders discussed how to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and the deteriorating humanitarian situation. They emphasized that de-escalation requires the release of hostages, and that the resolution of this conflict must be through a two-state solution. The unprecedented hospitality and welcome extended by the Egyptian leadership and people to Macron will have strong repercussions in the coming days. The understandings reached with major European countries, such as France, and Macron's firsthand observation of the Egyptian people's solidarity with President el-Sisi, their support for his vision and the preservation of their lands, and their rejection of the idea of displacement altogether. His visit to North Sinai in Arish placed him at the heart of Egyptian reality, emphasizing the Egyptians' desire to end the conflict and the destruction of Palestinian Arab lands. He emphasized that settlement and war will breed more hatred and revenge, and that the peoples want to live in peace, and that tourism between the peoples will return, the Suez Canal will return, and international investment will find peace. A fertile place for growth, development, and gains for stable peoples. And these wars and conspiracies will not end if we help them incite them. Egypt's action on multiple political, diplomatic, and economic levels astonishes both friend and foe. After the Arab states withdrew, leaving Egypt to face significant challenges and difficulties due to pressure to accept the displacement of Palestinians to Sinai, Egypt stood up to defend itself and its lands, and to defend itself and its people, as well as the liquidation of the Palestinian cause. It implemented balanced, successive, and synchronized solutions as events escalated, increasing its equipment and supplies on its borders in anticipation of deliberate, pre-planned, and pre-arranged enemy violations. Egypt's balanced responses are a calm response that the Egyptian will is not susceptible to pressure, arm-twisting, or subjugation by any means. Egypt and its army can protect its borders, regardless of the economic sanctions, bullying, and colonial arrogance it faces from the superpowers. Egypt has a long history of fighting colonial powers that still dream of seizing all the countries of the Arab region from the Nile to the Euphrates.
